Brian E. Smith, Design Director and Faculty at School of Visual Arts Brian is a designer and educator based in NYC. Currently he is the design director at the School of Visual Arts, where he and his team ideate and design books, magazines, identities, digital experiences, social media campaigns, websites and more for SVA. In addition, Brian is faculty in the BFA Advertising and Design programs where he teaches graphic design history.

His work aims to convey the unique and energetic culture at SVA for prospective students looking to develop their distinct artistic voice and learn from active professionals in the field. His work has won awards from the AIGA, Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Creative Review, D&AD, Graphis, HOW, I.D., The One Show, Print, Red Dot, SPD, Type Directors Club and the UCDA.
