Randi E. Wirth, PhD, is a Board-Certified Psychoanalyst (BCPsa) and a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). She is currently a North American Representative on the IPA Board of Directors. She is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR) in New York City where she also serves on the Board of Directors. She is a Director and Past President of the Confederation of Independent Psychoanalytic Institutes (CIPS) and currently serves on the board of the North American Psychoanalytic Confederation (NAPsaC). She is has served on and now consults on the IPA’s International New Groups Sponsoring Committee in Seoul, Korea and has served on the Program Committee of the first IPA Asia-Pacific Conference in Taipei. She has taught for both IPTAR’s Child and Adolescent Program (CAP) and for the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP).
Dr Wirth is in private practice in Manhattan working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She has consulted on group dynamics and conflict resolution in schools and organizations. She has a special interest in ADHD, executive functioning in children and adults, as well as psychosomatic disorders. She has four decades of experience in the field of eating disorders having served as Chief Psychologist at the Renfrew Center and as executive director of the American Anorexia and Bulimia Association (AABA).
